Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman
Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia
Shehu Abdul Rahman, the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Gashua, and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) (Admin.), Nasarawa State University, Keffi, is a professor of Agricultural Economics. Prior to his appointment as DVC he was the Dean, of the Faculty of Agriculture at Nasarawa State University, Keffi. He obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture degree in 1993, M.Sc. Agric. Economics in 1998 and a Ph.D. In Agric. Economics in 2001, all from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. His working experience spans from Assistant Lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1994 to a full Professor at Nasarawa State University, Keffi in 2008 at the age of 40. He is now at the Federal University of Lafia in Nasarawa State. He has served in various capacities rendering administrative and community development services in addition to teaching and research. His research activities produced over one hundred (100) publications in both National and International Journals of repute. He has presented over sixty-five (65) papers at various seminars, workshops, and conferences. He has served as a consultant to Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ)(German Technical Agency) and the World Bank. He has taught in the fields of Agricultural production Economics, Farm Management Economics, Econometrics, and Statistics at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and Federal University of Lafia; and has been an External Examiner of both undergraduate and postgraduate students at various Universities in Nigeria. He has served as External Assessor of twenty-four (24) candidates for promotion to Professorial positions in various Nigerian Universities. He was the Chairman of the Association of Deans of Agriculture in Nigerian Universities for two years (May 2010- May 2012). He has also served in the university system as Chairman of over twenty (20) Committees and Member of over thirty (30) Committees.
In recognition of his involvement in many cultural and developmental activities in Umaisha Chiefdom, he was turbaned as Shetima of Opanda on the 31st of December 2011. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists (FNAAE), a Fellow of the Horticultural Society of Nigeria (FHORTSON), and a Fellow of the African Scientific Institute (FASI).

Prof. Muhammad S. Liman
Former Vice-Chancellor, FULafia, Nigeria.
Professor Muhammad Sanusi Liman, a native of Lafia – Nasarawa State, was born on April 4, 1968. After his Primary and Post-Primary education, he attended the School of Basic Studies (A.B.U. Zaria) from August 1985 to July 1986. He gained admission into Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (A.T.B.U), Bauchi in 1987 and bagged a B.Tech. degree in Physics in 1991. He got his M.Sc. in Applied Physics from the University of Jos in 1997 and later proceeded to Okayama University, Japan where he bagged his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics (2004). He began his teaching appointment in 1992, at A.T.B.U. Bauchi, as a Graduate Assistant, rose through the ranks to become a Professor in October 2010. Amongst positions he held in the University system included: Coordinator – Postgraduate Seminar, Physics Programme (A.T.B.U. Bauchi), Faculty Examinations Officer, Kaduna State University, Head, Department of Physics, Nasarawa State University, Director, School of Preliminary Studies, Nasarawa State University, Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Nasarawa State University, Head, Department of Physics, Federal University Lafia. Professor Liman has taught several undergraduate and graduate courses and supervised to completion, several M.Sc. and Ph.D. Thesis/Dissertations. He has been a Postgraduate Examiner in four different Universities in Nigeria. He has, to his credit, quite a number of journals published in both national and international peer-reviewed journals.
Professor Liman initiated a proposal on the Japan-Nigeria cooperation in Plasma Technology to the Energy Commission of Nigeria for the Establishment of a Plasma Technology Energy Centre (PTEC) at A.T.B.U Bauchi. He established the Plasma Research Laboratory at the Kaduna State University, Kaduna and also developed the Postgraduate Curriculum for Postgraduate Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes in Physics, in the Department of Physics, Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Amongst the world-class laboratories he has visited, Profess Liman has conducted research in the following laboratories: Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI), Kyoto, Japan; National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS), Toki, Japan; Centre for Plasma Science and Technology, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt; Yukawa Centre for Theoretical Physics, Kyoto, Japan. Professor Liman served as the second Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lafia from February 16, 2017, to February 2021.

Prof. Matthew Olaleke Aremu
The Dean, Faculty of Science, FULafia
Matthew Olaleke Aremu currently works as a Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He is the current Dean of the Faculty of Science and former Director of the School of Basic and Remedial Studies at FULafia. He was a former HOD of Chemical Sciences; Dean, Pure and Applied Sciences; Pioneer Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies; Pioneer Deputy Vice–Chancellor, Academic Services at Federal University Wukari (FUWukari), Taraba Sate, Nigeria.
He was once a Lecturer, Associate Professor, HOD Chemistry and Deputy Dean of Natural and Applied Sciences at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Nigeria. He obtained his B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD Industrial Chemistry from three Nigerian Universities of Ilorin, Lagos and Ado–Ekiti, respectively. Prof. Aremu also obtained a certificate in Development of University Based Entrepreneurship Centre at Kennesaw University, Atlanta, USA between August and September 2015.
He does research into isolation, structure, physicochemical characteristics & functional relationship of proteins and lipids of underexploited plant seeds and pulps. His research group has won Institution and TETFund research grants at different times. Prof. Aremu has published over one hundred and sixty peer–reviewed and scientific articles in different national and international journals of repute as principal/co–author and participated in several regional and international conferences. He is an Editor–in–chief and editorial board member of many local and international reputable journals, and also served as a reviewer for over 12 different journals with high impact factors. He has successfully supervised and graduated 5 PhD and 8 M.Sc students. He has served as an external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate students in various Nigerian universities and also served as an external assessor for candidates seeking promotions to professorial positions in Nigerian universities.
He has been associated with many learned societies such as the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), the African Scientific Institute (ASI), the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON) and the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST). He was elected and honored as a Fellow of the prestigious Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN), a Fellow of the African Scientific Institute (FASI) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON). He is a Certified Food Scientist of Nigeria (CFSN).

Prof. O.R. Afolabi

Afolabi Oluwatoyin is a Professor of Food and Industrial Microbiology with a focus on Probiotics and food safety. Currently with the Fed. Univ. of Agric; Abeokuta with 25 years of University teaching experience. I have a BSc. (Microbiology)1990, from Unilorin, MSc. and Ph.D. Food and Industrial Microbiology from Unibadan (1992 and 2001) respectively. Fellow of Mashav;(2005), TWAS; (2006), ICGEB/FAS; (2007). I have successfully supervised 4 Ph.D. and more than 30 MSc students with 41 journal articles in International and local journals.

Prof. Stephen E. Onah
Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi
Prof. Stephen E. Onah has been the Director/Chief Executive of the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja, since 1st August 2016. He is a man of humble disposition, with notable achievements and remarkable successes in his portfolio.
Previously, Prof. Onah was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi and a Distinguished Professor of Stochastic Modeling and Numerical Computing.
Professor Onah hails from Benue State, Nigeria. He obtained both his B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc degrees in Mathematics from the University of Jos and also bagged his Ph.D. in Mathematics at the premier University of Ibadan.
As an erudite and productive scholar, Professor Onah has contributed a lot to scientific publications. He also contributed immensely to national, international and electronic journals. He has contributed to the development of high-level manpower in the country; having graduated a number of PhD students, one of whom is a Professor and Vice Chancellor of a public University in Nigeria.
As a seasoned administrator, academician, and professional member of both the Nigerian Mathematical Society (NMS) and the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN), Professor Onah has delivered papers at numerous conferences, both at home and abroad.
In recognition of his contribution to the development of the University and the larger society, Professor Onah has received many awards. He has a passion for affecting people’s lives positively. He is a fellow of the Institute of Industrial Administration (Nigeria). He was listed in the 15th Edition of Marquis’ Who is Who in the World 2010. Some of the awards and honours conferred on Prof. Onah include:
- Exemplary Comradeship and Excellent Leadership, 2005; a merit award by the Student Union, University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
- Reservoir of Knowledge Award, 2010; and Academic Noble – an international award by the Institute of Industrial Administration.
- Ambassador of Ethics and Conscience 2017. He was also inducted into the Ethics and
- Conscience Hall of Fame by Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation – 2017.
Professor Onah is happily married with lovely children.

Prof. G. A Iwo

Professor Godfrey Akpan Iwo is an experienced Lecturer and an industry-oriented Researcher with a specialization in Plant Breeding and Cytogenetics. Through dedicated, committed and collaborative scientific research efforts, he has developed and released five (5) elite varieties of Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) and is been involved in developing fifteen (15) mutant lines of Ginger (Zingiber officinales) with high oleorosine contents. He has also successfully worked on sugarcane, rice, sorghum, cucumber and soybean. He has served the University in different capacities as the Head of the Department of Crop Science, academic adviser to Undergraduates and Supervisor and Co-Supervisor to a total of 12 Ph.D and 8 MSc postgraduates.

Prof. Motomi Mori
Professor and Head, Division of Biostatistics, Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Oregon Health and Science University Oregon, USA.
Dr. Mori has 28 years of experience as a collaborative cancer biostatistician, starting with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (1989-1991), Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah (1991-1999), and the Knight Cancer Institute (Knight) at the Oregon Health & Science University (1999-present). As the Director of the Knight Biostatistics Shared Resource, she has a long-standing collaboration with investigators in the Translational Oncology Program and the Cancer Prevention and Control Program at the Knight Cancer Institute. She holds the position of Walter and Clora Brownfield Endowed Professor of Cancer Biostatistics in the Knight Cancer Institute, is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association, President of the Western North American Region of the International Biometric Society (IBS), served on the NCI Subcommittee A (Cancer Centers of the National Cancer Institute Initial Review Group (2006-2011) and was a faculty for the AACR/ASCO Methods in Clinical Research Workshop in Vail, Colorado (2015-2017).

Prof. Zaki El-Kasem

Dr. Kasem Zaki Ahmed graduated with a BSc and MSc in Agriculture from Minia University, and earned his PhD in Plant Genetics (Biotechnology) from the Hungarian Academy of Science, Hungary, in 1993. His university career started at the Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University, Egypt, and was promoted to full Professor in 2004. He held several academic administrative positions as a member of the Egyptian Universities Promotion Committee of the Professors and Assistant Professors in Genetics(2013-15). A highly prolific author in both English and Arabic, Prof. Ahmed is a past President of the African Crop Science Society.

Professor Antanio Felip Wouk

Professor Antonio Felip Wouk was a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1977 from the Federal University of Parana, Brazil, with residence in Surgery. He did an MS in Veterinary Medicine, from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil and Ph.D. in Biology and Physiology from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, France in 1984. He acquired his Post-doctoral studies at Alfort Veterinary School, France. He is a Full Professor of Surgical Sciences at the Federal University of Parana and the Catholic University of Parana, Brazil and an Ex-member of the section of health development of Roussel Uclaf laboratories in Paris. He is a Professor at the Qualittas Institute of Veterinary Continuing Education and President of The National Association of Specialized Veterinary Doctors (ABVET). He is a Member of the Commission of Veterinary Education of the National Board of Veterinary Medicine and a Member of the National Committee of Animal Experimentation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Brazil.

Prof. Haja Kadarmideen

Prof. Haja Kadarmideen (DVM, MVSc, PhD) is currently a Full Professor and Leader of the Animal Breeding, Quantitative Genetics and Systems Biology group at the Department of Veterinary Clinical and Animal Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen in Denmark. He is also the Director of bilateral consortiums: the Danish-Indian BioChild Consortium and the Danish-Brazilian GIFT Consortium. As of October 2014, he has authored/co-authored over 220 scientific publications: 65 international journal articles with scientific peer review and 50 refereed books and conference proceedings papers(see full list at: www.qsg.dk/hajak/). He is a member of several Professional Associations including the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), the Association for the Advancement of Animal Breeding and Genetics (AAABG) and the European Association of Animal Production (EAAP). He functions as a member of the Editorial board of journals, and a review panel member of grant applications in EU programs and other national funding agencies.
