Prof. Matthew Olaleke Aremu

Matthew Olaleke Aremu currently works as a Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He is the current Dean of the Faculty of Science and former Director of the School of Basic and Remedial Studies at FULafia. He was a former HOD of Chemical Sciences; Dean, Pure and Applied Sciences; Pioneer Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies; Pioneer Deputy Vice–Chancellor, Academic Services at Federal University Wukari (FUWukari), Taraba Sate, Nigeria.

He was once a Lecturer, Associate Professor, HOD Chemistry and Deputy Dean of Natural and Applied Sciences at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Nigeria. He obtained his B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD Industrial Chemistry from three Nigerian Universities of Ilorin, Lagos and Ado–Ekiti, respectively. Prof. Aremu also obtained a certificate in Development of University Based Entrepreneurship Centre at Kennesaw University, Atlanta, USA between August and September 2015.

He does research into isolation, structure, physicochemical characteristics & functional relationship of proteins and lipids of underexploited plant seeds and pulps. His research group has won Institution and TETFund research grants at different times. Prof. Aremu has published over one hundred and sixty peer–reviewed and scientific articles in different national and international journals of repute as principal/co–author and participated in several regional and international conferences. He is an Editor–in–chief and editorial board member of many local and international reputable journals, and also served as a reviewer for over 12 different journals with high impact factors. He has successfully supervised and graduated 5 PhD and 8 M.Sc students. He has served as an external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate students in various Nigerian universities and also served as an external assessor for candidates seeking promotions to professorial positions in Nigerian universities.

He has been associated with many learned societies such as the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), the African Scientific Institute (ASI), the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON) and the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST). He was elected and honored as a Fellow of the prestigious Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN), a Fellow of the African Scientific Institute (FASI) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON). He is a Certified Food Scientist of Nigeria (CFSN).

Dr. Abubakar Mohammed

Associate Professor of Biochemistry

Dr. Abubakar Mohammed is an accomplished and esteemed academician in the field of Biochemistry. With a passion for unraveling the complexities of biological processes at the molecular level, Dr. Mohammed has dedicated his career to advancing scientific knowledge and contributing to the development of the field.

Education and Academic Achievements:

Dr. Mohammed holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, obtained from a prestigious institution Allahabad University, India known for its excellence in research and education. His doctoral research focused on elucidating the role of specific enzymes in metabolic pathways and their implications for human health (Diabetes).

Professional Experience:

As an Associate Professor of Biochemistry, Dr. Mohammed has made significant contributions to both academia and scientific research. He has held faculty positions at renowned universities, where he has been actively involved in teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Dr. Mohammed's research work has been widely recognized and published in reputable scientific journals. His research interests encompass a broad range of topics, including protein structure and function, enzymology, metabolic disorders, and drug discovery. He has led several research projects and received grants from prominent funding agencies to support his investigations.

Dr. Oladiran Johnson ABIMBOLA

Dr. Oladiran Johnson ABIMBOLA obtained his BSc (Physics) at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in the year 2000 and thereafter proceeded to serve the nation in the 2000/2001 NYSC program in Plateau State, he did his primary assignment at the Calvary Science College, Rock-Haven (a private secondary school) in Jos.

After the NYSC program, he continued working at the secondary school and during the same period undergoing his Master's study in Physics at the University of Jos where he graduated in the year 2006 with an MSc degree in Applied Physics.

In January 2007, Dr. Abimbola joined the service of Bauchi State Government at the College of Education, Azare as a lecturer of Physics, he worked there for six and half years. While at the College of Education, he started his PhD program at the University of Ilorin in the year 2011.

Dr. Abimbola joined the Federal University of Lafia in the year 2014 as Lecturer II and completed his Ph.D. program in the year 2017 with a Ph.D. degree conferred on him by the University of Ilorin in the year 2018.

Dr. Abimbola has published numerous scientific articles in the field of Atmospheric Physics.

Dr. Godwin Attah Obande

Godwin Attah Obande is a Lecturer and Researcher at the Federal University of Lafia, where he currently heads the Department of Microbiology. He holds a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from the Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has published articles in local and international journals on a range of topics in Microbiology. His research interests cover Medical Microbiology, Antimicrobial Resistance, development of diagnostics for infectious diseases, and Public Health. Dr. Godwin Obande has presented several papers and seminars at local and international conferences and serves as reviewer for some international journals. He has received some academic awards, and is a member of academic and scientific bodies, including the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM), the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) and the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy among others.

ADAMUDE, Fatima Adis Ph.D.

ADAMUDE, Fatima Adis is an accomplished Nigerian-born educator, a passionate researcher, and a dedicated advocate for the field of Biochemistry. Her academic journey has been marked by excellence, earning her numerous accolades and recognition throughout her career. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Biochemistry, both of which she earned from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she was recognized as the Best Graduating Student in both 2007 and 2014. Taking her academic pursuits even further, Fatima completed her doctoral studies, earning a Ph.D. in Protein Biochemistry from the same prestigious institution in 2021. Dr. Imam Akeyede

Dr. Imam Akeyede is an associate professor of Statistics who obtained his doctorate degree in Statistics in 2015 from University of Ilorin. His Master and Bachelor of Science degrees were obtained from the same University in 2007 and 2003 respectively.

Dr. Akeyede has published more than 60 articles in reputable journals from different countries across the globe. His articles have been cited a number of times on google scholar. He has carried out several researches in different areas in pure and applied Statistics, and He has supervised a number of MSc and PhD students. He has attended and participated in several scientific conferences in Nigeria and abroad.

Dr. Akeyede is currently a member of Nigeria Statistical Association (NSA), Professional Statistician Society of Nigeria (PSSN) and International Biometry Society (IBS). He was the Head of Mathematics Department of Federal University of Lafia and currently pioneer head of Statistics Department. His research interests focus on Time Series analysis, Econometric Stochastic simulation and Modeling, Probability, Distribution theory and Mathematical Statistics. He has supervised to completion, a number of PhD and MSc students. He serves as an external examiner to different universities in Nigeria. He also serves as an editorial member and reviewer to several scholarly journals focusing on Sciences and Statistical Theory and application.

Dr. James Ishaku Maikenti

James Ishaku Maikenti is a dedicated and passionate entomologist and parasitologist whose educational journey has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of insects and their parasitic relationships.

Dr. James' academic foundation began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Maiduguri. This programme gave him a broad understanding of the animal kingdom, fundamental biology, ecology, and behavior of animals. Driven by a specific interest in insects, James pursued a Master of Science(M.Sc.) in Applied Entomology and Parasitology from the University of Jos. This programme deepened his knowledge of insect biology, classification, and their interactions with other organisms, particularly parasites. James further expanded his expertise by obtaining a Ph.D. in Entomology and Parasitology from the Federal University of Lafia. His Doctoral studies typically involve intensive research and the development of specialized knowledge within the field of mosquitoes and malaria parasites. James' Ph.D. focused on the dynamics of malaria transmission, allowing him to become a leading authority in the field of malaria vectors and the disease itself. James' educational achievements demonstrate his dedication to the fields of entomology and parasitology. His qualifications position him well for a successful career in research, academia, or professional practice.

Teaching Experience

James began his teaching career at Bingham University in Karu, Nigeria, where he instructed courses in general biology, microbial genetics, ecology, entomology and parasitology from 2012 to 2018. During this time, he played a vital role in educating students about the fascinating world of insects and their ecological significance. In 2019, James joined the Department of Zoology of the Federal University of Lafia, where he continues to teach entomology and parasitology courses to this day. His expertise and passion for the subject matter are likely instrumental in inspiring the next generation of entomologists and parasitologists. James' teaching experience extends beyond lectures, potentially including entomology lab courses, field trips, or independent research opportunities for students.
